The Faculty of Electrical Engineering (Power and Control) with the purpose of strengthening the connection between the university and the industry, relying on workshop, laboratory and expert facilities, has had valuable industrial relations with companies in various electrical and energy industries for several decades and as a scientific and technical authority has provided services to industries and subsidiary companies. With professional experts and experienced faculty members in applied research and industrial consulting, this group has industrial, laboratory and engineering consulting services on its agenda.
Various industries of the country, including manufacturing and industrial companies and subsidiary companies of the Ministry of Energy, have used the services of this faculty in the fields of repairs, tests, installation and commissioning, troubleshooting, periodical services, consulting, etc.
In this faculty, the engineering services department has left an excellent track record since long ago, so it is one of the first and most successful centers in the country with specialized facilities and equipment. This equipment is used in 35 laboratories and workshops under the supervision of experts and faculty members in order to provide technical and engineering services.
Some of the services that can be provided by this faculty include designing, testing, repairing and troubleshooting electrical equipment.
1- Transformers:
- Specialized repairs of all types of distribution and sub-transmission transformers and special transformers (furnace, electroplating, ...)
- Performing transformer tan-delta test (insulation loss coefficient), routine tests of transformers up to 66 kV and 15 MVA
- Troubleshooting and analysis of incidents and giving expert opinions on the cause of faults in all types of transformers
- Oil Sampling and electrical conducting, physical and chemical tests, gas chromatography and interpreting the results
- Conduct partial discharge tests on all types of power and distribution transformers and analyze the results
- Performing insulation tests on compression bushings
- Conducting standard tests on tap changers of distribution and transmission transformers
- Designing and prototyping special and customized transformers
- Consulting and supervising the purchase, installation and commissioning of all kinds of transformers
- Performing standard tests and measuring CT and PT accuracy class
- Testing, repairing and setting up electrical equipment of power plants and refineries
- Troubleshooting high voltage cables using on-site cable fault detector device
- High-voltage cables AC and DC Hipot Tests
- Troubleshooting and jointing of marine cables
- Partial discharge test of HV cables on the site and in the laboratory
- High current injection test up to 20kA to determine the thermal performance of the cable
