Shahid Beheshti University Robotics Team Crowned Champion of the Autonomous Vehicle Category and Winner of the Technical Challenge Award at the First National Olympiad of Sports Technologies

According to the Public Relations Office of Shahid Beheshti University, the Robotics Team from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, comprised of Maria Sabouri, Mandana Shabanzadeh, Aria Dadnavy, Ali Taheri Garkani, and Yousef Ashrafi under the supervision of Dr. Mohammad Hossein Moayeri, achieved outstanding success at the first National Olympiad of Sports Technologies. The team secured first place in the Autonomous Vehicle competition after excelling in both the Urban and Speed challenges, ultimately standing on the top podium.

In addition, the team was honored with the Special Technical Challenge Award, a recognition that highlights the students’ high level of technical expertise, innovation, and creativity in robotics and cutting-edge technologies.

The inaugural National Olympiad of Sports Technologies, hosted by Amirkabir University of Technology, brought together 700 male and female students from universities and higher education institutions across the country. The Olympiad featured competitions in three main categories: Robotics, Digital and Phygital Sports, and Innovation and Technology in Sports.

In the Robotics category, 10 student teams from leading universities—including Amirkabir University of Technology, Isfahan University of Technology, Shahid Beheshti University, Arak University of Technology, Lorestan University, University of Birjand, and University of Amol for Advanced Technologies—competed against each other. With an exceptional performance in autonomous vehicle design and implementation, Shahid Beheshti University’s team claimed first place.

It should be noted that, in addition to the Robotics category, the Olympiad also featured 104 innovative projects in sports technologies and 361 students competing in the Digital and Phygital categories.
